Gearboxes are the core power transmission system for gold dredging and sand mining operations. They are designed to provide high torque output, transmit powerful power, and ensure stable and reliable operation. They are suitable for the demanding operating conditions of dredging vessels, such as heavy loads, impact, and continuous operation. Gearboxes typically drive cutterheads, sand pumps, and other critical systems, and are widely used in river gold mining, sand mining, and river channel deepening projects.
During dredging operations, the prime mover (diesel engine or electric motor) generates high-speed rotation, which is then processed by the gearbox. Through the meshing of multiple gears, this high-speed, low-torque input is converted into the low-speed, high-torque output required by the working equipment. This powerful torque drives the cutterhead to cut through soil and rock, and the sand pump to pump and transport the slurry mixture, creating an efficient and continuous operating cycle.
